The Sony Bravia 5 is a 65 inch 4K Mini LED TV that stands out for sports, streaming, and bright room viewing, with 120 hertz support and surprisingly good viewing angles. At around $600, it is described as a strong value for most homes, especially where OLED can struggle. The main caution is that brightness and processing are not top tier, and some comparisons favor the Bravia 7 or TCL QM8K at similar prices. In store availability is spotty, and display units may be missing the remote or full coverage.

  • The TV can work well for sports and streaming in a moderately bright living room.

  • The viewing angles are surprisingly good for this 65-inch Bravia 5 model.

  • The $600 price point is viewed as more reasonable for a 65-inch 4K Mini LED set.

  • The deal can be strong when a unit includes the box and remote rather than being display-only.

  • The picture can look washed out with non-existent contrast for some buyers.

  • Upscaling can be difficult to disable and may make images bigger and blurrier.

  • Some store inventory can be limited to a display model missing the remote, which reduces what you receive.

  • Costco's 5-year coverage may not apply to a display model that has been on the shelf.

I have an old ass LG C8. While the picture is still fantastic, it has issues with casting. Would this Sony be any improvement? There are supposedly a few in stock at a store 15 miles away.

I bought this TV and returned it after 1 week. The colors are washed out, the contrast is non-existent and there is no option to turn off the annoying upscaling which makes everything on the screen bigger and blurrier.
Ever since they tooled more in cheaper Chinese mfg they diluted the led technology in favor of more profitable Oled tvs.. lg and samsung too

Haven't needed that site in a while but thats shitty they paywalled it 🙄
A lot of sites have had to resort to this due to AI. They just ingest their information, and then they get none of the ad revenue since no one is visiting their site and just getting it from the AI agent

They told me the 5 year don't apply to display model... what do you think .?
I've found the display model only, but it's been on the shelf for a year, and it's on from the moment they open until they close, so ....it's got some miles ..
So the deal is $500 for it, with remote , no box .

For the price this seems like a really good deal. It's 120Hz, 4K, and 65" for $600. None in my local store though.

I just bought it. $350. It was the display model with no remote or box. I also bought the 85 inch Bravia 5 for $1000. This one was the last one in store and came with box and everything.

The Bravia 7 is your friend if you really want the Sony processingThe Hisense U8QG and probably even better TCL QM8K , for about the same price as the Bravia 5, IMO, are even better options
Would Bravia 8 II be the top pick over all of these?
