DCD793 drill / DCF840 driver
These are okay for small weekend projects, but probably won't last for larger projects or normal use.
These are lower end mediocre tools, but better than most bottom of the barrel tools you usually see listed!
A deal would be $99 for this kit!

I'm curious why you think these won't last long term? I've had and used both of these to build many decks for over 7 years and have had no problems with them.

If you compare these to the DCD800 drill and DCF860 driver, you could have saved 50% of your time over 7 years of work!
The 793 abd 840 are medium use, way slower and get even slower when over used and get hot. You're lucky they haven't failed yet, or those decks were tiny.

It's $150 for two tools, two batteries, and a charger! A heck of a deal. More than adequate for 99% of homeowners. Pro's may want something more heavy duty, or they can just buy two sets, and still save.

I recently bought the DCF840 w/battery for $100. Think I'll return it and get this set instead. Don't need another drill, but for $50 extra, I'll gift it to my son or something.

Like I said earlier: "These are okay for small weekend projects"
Just because it comes with two tools, doesn't make it good!
$10 average per ah battery = $20 batteries with a crappy 2 amp charger, Again, okay for the weekend smaller project homeowner that doesn't mind waiting 1 hour to charge a 2 ah battery!
If you're buying on a deal impulse, wait for the good tools!
I bought the DCD800D2 kit for $108, DCD860B for $99 and two 6ah batteries with 6 amp chargers for $65ea
These are great deals on top of the line high quality powerful tools!
Your talking a $58 difference between top of the line professional tools to mediocre weekend homeowner tools!

I don't get the hate.. I have been using 12V Dewalt set for more than 15 years, not a single problem, other than the batteries not holding enough charge and drain faster, they are my go-to drivers. I just want to get a new set because they don't make the 12V batteries anymore and I don't trust off-brand ones. Only downside of this set is that drill does not have hammer function, which this set has but it's overpriced due to heavy & large batteries it comes with: https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-2...5015993647

I have a DWD110. Would this be an upgrade? I'm tired of cables.

Why buy bottom feeder beginners tools, when you can buy better top tier tools for just a little bit more? Just because they make kits, doesn't mean the kit is better, or you have to buy them. 95% of DeWalt kits are loaded with low end/bottom of the barrel tools.
Why buy weaker and out dated for the same price?
You'll shortly be back in the same situation you're in now with your 12v!
It's not hate, it's common sense.
As for heavy and bulky high capacity batteries, buy a PowerStack then!

I wouldn't call it an upgrade. But since it's cordless, it's more of a convenience.
But only having 2ah batteries, you'll eat them up in no time, while waiting to charge your battery for an hour on the crappy charger!
Then you'll be looking for an extension cord for your DWD110.
These are all my points the nay sayers refuse to comprehend!
