Some of my favorite games/franchises include Bioshock, Borderlands, Metro and Control. Are there any titles in the list anyone would recommend for a guy with my tastes? Bonus points for Steam Deck compatibility.

Dishonored, prey, atomic heart(too demanding for steam deck) even DOOM 3
Agree with The Forest / Sons of the Forest -- great games solo, even better with friends. Keep in mind you will die. A lot. It is a survival horror crafting game that isn't forgiving, but rewarding when you figure stuff out (but don't worry if you need to keep the wiki open on a 2nd monitor). Also has a good story and building mechanic. If you like Green Hell or 7 Days to Die, those are for you.
Don't forget to make plenty of Greg Soup!

Get Prey when it's on sale. It's often really cheap.

I will third Prey 2016. It's essentially Bioshock but futuristic. I would just grab it next time it hits under $10.
RE4 (2005) is a blast and runs extremely well on the Deck.

Thanks for the recommendations. I really enjoyed Prey on Xbox and will revisit it on Steam at some point. I picked up Atomic Heart on a previous sale. It's listed as platinum Steam Deck capability on ProtonDB. I can always run it on lower settings if needed. I've heard of Dishonored but never played it. I'll have to add it to the queue. I played the original Doom games but not sure about #3.

I own pretty on Xbox and enjoyed it. I own a copy on Steam as well. I'll revisit at some point. I'll have to check on RE4, as I have some on Xbox. I'm a horror fan but for some reason have never gotten sucked in to the RE games I've tried.
