Not everyone needs tools for work. These are perfect for the home owner that does projects every 2 months.

Yep! I have several B&D 20v power tools that work just fine for me. I also have an older Craftsman 20v Matrix drill, that uses the same battery as B&D. They suit me just fine.

do these standalone impact drivers have more "power" than the drills with "impact" built into them? (like this one https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../332250132)

It is not necessarily a power question, it's different purposes. A driver (like this) is going to make it easier to drive screws. I'm not a scientist or smart enough to explain this adequately, but the power is directed in way that optimizes the screwing in. A drill is optimized for drilling holes.

As for whether or not this is "good", it's hard to argue with $40 with an included battery.

The only downside is this is the start of a marriage to the Craftsman ecosystem. Which is again just fine, but maybe not the absolute first choice for any specific use case.

I picked one up yesterday. Its only a 1.5 amp battery pack and the charger is also tiny not sure on the charger speed versus the bigger ones. I did however drive about 20 3 inch self tapping screws thru some prime #2 2x4s and the difference between this and a cordless drill was night and day. The drill would want to slip out of the screws. This just pounds them in with absolutely no slip with the same exact worn bit. Also was about 5 times faster. Definitely worth the money.

Just witnessed a side by side unofficial test of two folks trying to replace some window blinds (unscrewing old blinds and screwing in the new ones), Craftsman Impact Driver vs Ryobi Drill. What you say is absolutely on the mark. This Impact Driver handled the task near instantly vs a drill that kept slipping on the screws. Impact Driver side was done in like five minutes and came over and finished the drill side's task afterward. Night and Day difference.

I love the nice deals you can find from Lowe's on occasion, but I seriously hate dealing with their delivery. I have ordered something to be delivered by Lowe's exactly twice in my life, and twice they have delivered it some mystery house that is not mine. I've tried several navigation apps, and not one of them points to the wrong place for my address, so I cannot for the life of me figure out why they can't get it right.
But, lesson learned - I'm never ordering anything to be delivered from them again. It's always delivered from another store other than my local one, and it ends up being a huge hassle just to get what I ordered.

I really do like the deals sometimes, though. My local store had a couple of 4.0Ah batteries for $30, which is WAY cheaper than I can find brand name batteries anywhere near that capacity elsewhere, so I won't sweat the 1.5Ah battery that came with this one too much.
