I think the Sam's Club Member's Mark 4-Burner Griddle ($249) deal is a better value for the below reasons...
1. Member's Mark (MM) is 36" vs Blackstone (BS) is 28"
2. MM is 4 burners vs BS is 2 burners
3. MM is 720 sq inches vs 524 sq inches
4. MM comes with metal cover and All-weather RPet grill cover only vs BS comes with cover and spatulas.

NEED a new grill. Thinking of getting a a blackstone but idk. anyone have one of these? how do they compare to traditional gas grills? I feel like on a BS, it's just a big frying pan. So all you're doing is pan frying everything? i cant imagine a fried steak comparing to a grilled one. same for burgers and dogs. what am i missing?

My husband uses the Blackstone WAY more than he ever used the gas grill. He likes making smash burgers and pastas on it the most. Chicken does fine (I miss the grill marks) and steak does fine. My dad prefers a gas grill as he mostly cooks salmon on plank boards. It really depends on what you plan to grill. If you get a blackstone there is a shrimp bbq pasta recipe on their website that is sooo good.
I do think cleaning is easier.

Honestly you shouldn't plan on one replacing the other, they are different cooking methods that really only have minor overlap.

My grill does all the typical grilled things (burgers (I hate smash burgers), chicken, sausages, etc).

My blackstone is for higher temp "wet"/"small" foods (taco meat, fried rice) and "flat" foods (bacon, tortillas).

I dislike burgers and the sort from the blackstone, and I cant make tacos on the grill. So I have both (plus a smoker). Just like you wouldn't replace a bbq with a dedicated smoker, you shouldn't replace a grill with a blackstone.
