This Hisense 8000 BTU DOE smart portable air conditioner stands out as a quiet, efficient dual hose inverter unit that can cool real spaces well, from bedrooms and condos to garages and upstairs areas. The 2 year warranty adds value, and the CEER 13.5 rating and lower power draw make it look strong for a portable. The main caveats are portability tradeoffs, with bulky hoses, some noise when the compressor cycles, and a few reports of bad smells or error codes. A solid fit if you want portable cooling with better efficiency than typical single hose units.

My window won't allow these so I was thinking of drilling through my siding and use dryer vent type of opening with a mesh outside to avoid critters from getting in.
If it's an Andersen swing window, you can replace the screen with a piece of plexi, and saw a hole through that to run the tube. Just make sure to "open the window" before turning on the AC. I run this setup, and you can find videos of it on YouTube.

Assuming you can afford it, if you are willing to do that kind of work you should just spring for a minisplit instead. More efficient, more visually appealing, saves floor space etc. Just strictly better than these other than being slightly more expensive and requiring holes... but if you are doing holes anyways?

It's swing up style, I'll check plexi option that's a good idea but I winder if it will stay in place..

Hmmm.... it says seller is not accepting any bids or offers from you. And cannot buy it. I don't know why I am on a list of some sort that prevents me from buying. This is odd. I didn't do anything to get on a black list from sellers.

Is your shipping address being excluded from their shipping policy (like PO Box, Hawaii...)?

For $30 more, I recommend this one (I have it from a previous deal) that includes heat and Wifi:https://www.ebay.com/itm/36495968...R5S2usvXZwI've had it for a year, and it's a life-saver. I use it in a 3-car garage (insulated) to keep temps manageable on cold or hot days. That's honestly a bigger space than this unit is designed to handle, but if I give it a 30 minute head start, it does very well. If you're just using this in a regular room, this thing will work fast and well! For a $230 solution that makes your space comfortable, it's a deal!
I went with this one. With included heat pump and good for up to 550 sq ft. This is going into my detached garage. Wicked summer heat in Texas and surprising cold winters, though not a long stint.

Nope. Regular home address in CA. It doesn't matter. Bought the Walmart Midea deal as I couldn't replicate this deal.

Got it last week and just put it in last night. Using a smart plug to monitor it, I found it only uses 1.4kw/night from 10:30 PM to 5:30 AM at 70 degrees (room temp was around 68 with a fan for ventilation).

Link for smartplug just in case you need it (choose a like new one at better price, I got it delivered brand new, sealed)

If my math is right, that is around 200 watts per hour. It must have not been very hot.

I bought this and it was working great for a week and then all of a sudden the air coming out of it smells really bad. I cleaned the filters, emptied the drain, tried running it without the hose, still didn't fix it.

This is perfect for our use case. We don't have split unit so the upstairs was cooking down here in NC. Took about 15min to install, and immediately cooled down the temp in the room upstairs. We needed a booster to keep upstairs from getting up to 78 degrees during peak and will help our central air keep up. Def recommend if you need similar setup. Can't beat 2 yr warranty and same one brand new is $400 at Costco currently.
