Bought something like this a few years ago for my leaky first-gen CRV. The plastic tools break pretty easily, but the hook tool is essential for getting the round clips out without breaking them.

The problem with metal is the potential damage. You want a trim tool of comparable malleability to the trim, and for exteriors, something that won't easily damage paint. If you have an option to use metal, always do it.

I have used this set on my car, golf cart and it helped me get a small section of pool liner back in place this year. Glad I bought it on a SD a couple years ago! Would buy again
