We actually stayed there in March for our spring break trip and booked through Costco. It's a phenomenal hotel with great ocean views from the ocean view room and outstanding food and service. Definitely comes across as being very pricey if you book directly from the Marriott website, but makes it seem reasonable when booked through Costco because of the valet parking fee being waived/Resort Face being waved and daily 200 credit. Five nights still cost us above $6,000 at that time (with rental car), but that was close to half the cost relative to direct booking on the marriot website.

Thanks for the info. If I could afford a $6000-8000 vacation, I wouldn't be on slickdeals, personally

You need to be on slickdeals (to save money), so that you can afford 8K vacation.

But I agree with you. That's expensive for 5 nights. We rented AirBnb with amazing ocean view for 5 nights for around $800 BEFORE the week of Christmas.

Why not? I can afford a trip like this but there isn't ever a point in my life where I went "hmm my income is very high, I should stop trying to save money and quit looking for deals".

Lol!!! Technically you could say that!! But have been hooked to this from my residency days when it was "necessary" to save every penny but even now I still find this site as one of my go to places for random surfing!! Its no so much about the "savings" anymore but I actually enjoy browsing random things here more than I enjoy being on social media!!

The 200 credit more than covers the daily breakfast if thats what you want to use it for...Or can spend that on drinks and dinner....

Weird, 4 adults from east coast (Orlando), I got a vacation total of just over $8K, that included ocean view and an upgraded rental car. This was 11/30 to 12/6. I didn't pull the trigger, because .... 8K 🤣
EDIT - was intended to reply to "thischris"

My spouse and I visit our daughter in Hawaii every year and it's hard to do it under $10K for 10 days. We have used Costco to book and usually it's the best deal. It's the B.S. fees that screw you!
Hotels: Very expensive
Rental Cars: Above Average
Flights : Average

whatever rate you get on a 5-night stay, all depends on the dates of travel. i think the waived resort fee and parking alone makes it decent.
