From personal experience they do need solid clean power for optimal performance.
They can sound muddy if they're under powered ime.
So they like power & imo are designed to be played at higher than average volume levels.
Even then, whether you prefer the sound will be a crap shoot imo.
Here is a $7000/pr boutique audiophile tower speaker, with 3 giant 8.4" woofers --- if you scroll down the page to the specs table, you'll notice that its minimum "Recommended Amp Power" is 50 watts, just 10 watts less than the humble Emotiva's! 🤣
Definitely didn't listen nowhere near reference.
Confident the 760 would not fair better.

The closely related dirty little secret is that since most casual consumers pick speakers by how much bass they produce, having a sub also levels the playing field between moderately priced ($300-500/pr bookshelves, $1000-1500/pr towers) speakers vs the higher dollar ones.

Even Emotiva recommends 60 watts or greater for a reason.
The unique beauty of sound is it's completely subjective.
You can believe whatever you want & you would be correct(for you).
If one agrees with that belief, these towers should be a wasted cost.
The XB1s for $219/pr should produce the same results since the sub would take all the strain away also?
All at a much lower cost!
