- They just keep renaming their CPUs. This is the same as 8c/16t equivelent 7000 series (2023) and 8000 series (2023) and now 200 series from 2025... All of these 8c/16t cpus are the same, with maybe some different AI stuff.
- Same 780m igpu from 2023. Not as good as it once was.
- Soldered RAM helps with price, but ultimately limits the system, with no upgrade. Microsoft even said 32gb RAM, should be the new norm, especially with Windows bloat.
- No USB4 or Oculink kills gaming possibilities.
This is basically a great office office PC that can do some emulation and light PC gaming. The H 255 is the same as the 8745HS...the 8845HS, and the 7840HS/7940HS...with marginal changes to the TDP, maybe 200 mhz more or less, and without an NPU that no one will ever use in this generation. Zen4 is pushing four years old now. It is a very good SOC
I agree with the other poster, this is basically a very fast office machine. Not enough memory to use those graphics, with no upgrade path, and no oculink.
Just over seven months ago, you could get a 7840HS, 32gb, and a 1TB SSD for $420 (It was a BOSGAME or some brand I think). How far we have come in this shitty timeline...
