It'd be nice if they started importing some cheaper video/vacuum ones. You can get a (just) vacuum one for like $10 as well but I wouldn't use it without being able to see what you're doing.
Following one of these up with a carbamide peroxide / ear bulb is the best way to go w/o having to visit the ENT.
if you are a careless moron, sure, you could damage your ear. if you're intelligent and reasonable with your approach, it's super easy and safe. probably safer than a doctor doing it because you can FEEL what's happening in addition to seeing it happen.

FWIW, I've used borescopes (wired and wireless) dozens and dozens of times...costing 20-50 times this. Same exact concept, and the exact same implementation for the exact same technology. Using one sounds much easier in theory than in practice, and that's in areas that are not perilous to the human body you can still royally mess things up inside of walls or in machinery. Up turns to down, some devices mirror the output or give you a crazy fisheye effect (no zero perception of depth). And the lag is REAL and worse it is not a consistent delay either (via wifi or BT). A consistent delay you can kinda work with, but 2 frames here, 10 frames there, sudden black screen then an illusion of speed when the buffering seems to be playing catch up. Not so much. I've also used high and low end wifi drones, wireless back up cameras, wireless security cameras, remote target cameras (for shooting). All of these using the exact same tech. So "tried it"...plenty. Unless you are suggesting NEATEST has finally solved all of these problems...then please tell me more
And I repeat, the cheapo camera's lag / display / poor (and / or misleading) FOV is more of a reference than a guide. Something it sounds like you clearly can't grasp yet plan on depending on that misunderstood relationship to (literally) guide you.
FWIW I think some of the people here are giving way too much credit to the average human. Not sure if you have met many of us but we can be an absurdly overconfident crowd with zero patience...who grossly overestimates their competence at every turn. For example, when navigating the human ear...something your typical soccer mom or dad has so much experience using a remote video display while while little Cody is screaming and crying in the background and McKayla won't stay still while you are jamming things into the side of her head....what could go wrong?

No, I asked about a $20 one I had purchased as I had to get my ear vacuumed out on Monday and some aluminum acetate put in it as it unfortunately has a fungal infection. This isn't about removing some wax build up…
They for the most part all have the same form factor. The one I bought has silicone tips and ya you need to be careful but they have their use cases. Generally speaking though I do agree that you should try and avoid putting things in your ear.
