I refuse to own another toto. They change designs which makes it impossible to get replacement parts, and they are the only toilet I have ever owned that had algae issues even with their special sani clean bowl treatment.
Wow, first I am hearing of this. I just had the Toto Drake (from Costco) installed recently. No residue or algae stuff yet but it's not even been a month or two yet.

Anyone own these? Honest opinion anyone?
Bought one on the last Black Friday special. DIY friendly, I installed on my own. You won't find a more full featured unit at this price, Kohler and Toto integrated bidets are easily 5-10x the price.

Pros:
-Great one piece ceramic bowl, easy to clean outside due to the vertical side walls
-Pre-bowl flush "primes" the bowl before you do #2, so inner bowl is less stain prone when fully flushed
-The night lights / LEDs are very useful, never need to turn on bathroom light in middle of the night
-Well packed and protected for safe shipment
-Comes with all hoses, fittings

Cons:
-Lid is thin and lightweight, it is not designed for sitting on
-Dryers on Japanese Totos seem to do a better job
-Prone to clog easily with big drops
-Parts availability seem slim to none, don't drop the remote in water or break it. Without it, toilet functions can't be activated.

Tips:
Buy longer hoses so you can better tuck the included valve and/or water filter away (and inside the back of the toilet)
Buy a wax ring that is thicker/beefier from the big box store, the one that comes with it seems a bit flimsy

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the quality and the functionality.

I wish the lid and seat can be lifted with a single button press. You have to tap twice (and have to wait for lid to fully open before tapping the 2nd time).

Should it have any major malfunction, you may very well have to buy a new one, due to lack of parts availability at big box stores/plumbing stores. However, they are so much cheaper than the big brands that you'll still be ahead if you end up having to buy another one.

Toto Drake is a workhorse, basically a commercial toilet. My friend is a home developer and only uses their toilets because they are rock solid and dont give you issues. 10 years ago the average person had never heard of Toto and Kohler was the gold standard not sure what this guy is going on about

I have a deer Valley model smart toilet. It's actually pretty amazing. It has powerful flush and bubble shield both work really well. My previous toilet had a lot of clogging issues. This one I have maybe had to plunger one time.

Great question, I don't know exactly. Other than the site seems to be affiliated somehow with shop.app, which I guess I'm a member of? The email with the offer came from shop.app.

Anyone know what the average cost to install would be? For someone who isn't handy enough to install it themselves

I also recently installed a toto drake. The tornado flush is nothing I have ever witnessed. It's powerful and fun to watch. I read that the parts where the water comes out will be hard to wash. But time will tell.

I've never heard of DeerValley, but this price point is tempting.

Also keep in mind that these toilets don't flush in a power outage. I have a Horow and love it....but last month we lost power for four hours. Never thought it would be a big deal until I lost power for more then five minutes. I now have my bathroom circuit on a battery backup.
