Genova yellowfin tuna in olive oil stands out for rich flavor and easy meal use, especially straight from the can or tossed on salad with the oil as dressing. The oil-packed version is described as tasting much better than water-packed tuna, and the brand is treated as a premium option. The main drawback is sodium, which is called very high for a product advertised as low sodium, though draining the oil can reduce it. Coupon pricing also varies by size and account, so the deal may require clipping the offer carefully.

How is this going to taste compared to the cheap Starkist chunk light I have only had before?

It certainly won't be worse than crappy Starkist chunk light.

I buy this all the time. It is great tuna. Taste great and great to put on salad and use the oil as dressing. Highly recommended

you're supposed to dump the excess oil/salt, or at least replace it with fresh olive oil to eat with. the point of tuna in oil vs water is to preserve the flavor/texture of the meat. any chef will tell you to get tuna in oil. imagine storing any other meat in a bunch of water vs oil, when it comes time to eat which do you think would taste better?

Anyone know how this compares to Costco prices? I know the cans at Costco are bigger
online price is $19.99 for 6x7oz cans, but the fact that Costco only sells 7oz cans of tuna drives me nuts. if you've eaten 5oz cans of tuna your whole life, 7oz is way too much for one person, unless you're protein maxxing or have a huge appetite. and obviously it's not enough for two people either. not sure what the logic is for 7oz other than "Costco gonna Costco"

"E could 'a drawed me off a pint,' grumbled the old man as he settled down behind a glass. 'A 'alf litre ain't enough. It don't satisfy. And a 'ole litre's too much. It starts my bladder running. Let alone the price.'
'You must have seen great changes since you were a young man,' said Winston tentatively.
The old man's pale blue eyes moved from the darts board to the bar, and from the bar to the door of the Gents, as though it were in the bar-room that he expected the changes to have occurred.
'The beer was better,' he said finally. 'And cheaper! When I was a young man, mild beer -- wallop we used to call it -- was fourpence a pint. That was before the war, of course.'
'Which war was that?' said Winston.
'It's all wars,' said the old man vaguely. He took up his glass, and his shoulders straightened again. "Ere's wishing you the very best of 'ealth!'
In his lean throat the sharp-pointed Adam's apple made a surprisingly rapid up-and-down movement, and the beer vanished. Winston went to the bar and came back with two more half-litres. The old man appeared to have forgotten his prejudice against drinking a full litre.
