Seems like great option if your are ok not having duplex scan and copy. I'm on the fence because of lack of duplex.

Toner in general does not go bad like the ink in inkjets. Had an inkjet years ago & it's such a PITA if you don't print frequently. Constantly clogged heads & dried out ink. 1 toner cartridge can last years if you don't print frequently. If it sits a long time without printing just shake it up a little bit to loosen up the toner before printing again & you're good to go.

tempting, I need to replace my ricoh color laser (nothing but issues) but the amount of printing (in color) continues to decrease over time

Purchased this last month from Brother using the $40 coupon in chat. Came in quickly and looked new. It showed like 70 pages of prints on the runtime, but no issues. Set this up to handle network scanning to my paperless server. Can't complain. Well it is big, and I wish it was gray or black, but otherwise no complaints.

I'm very happy with my printer. Great deal, esp. with the code from chat. Quiet and fairly quick to set up. Loads of setup options but I just need basics these days.

Just curious, between this deal and 40-50% back in points at Staples, which is better deal? I understand Staples deal is not currently running, but I have seen it happen at least 2-3 times within the last year, and I am fairly certain it will come back at some point.

Looks like the regular cyan, yellow and magenta are about $85 per and the black as well. Unless you get the high yield versiond and that's going to be about $124 on the brother website.

Purchased this same deal last month but it does not come with the 3000 page black toner. My understanding is that the higher yield toner is 229XL, it's just a 229 possibly a starter cartridge. Also the 30 day return is at your expense.
