Hyper Tough (Walmart) looks to be almost the same, and is $20 at regular price, and I believe you can get free ship if you exceed $35.

Harbor Freight's ICON magnetic tool mat is a compact, strong-holding mat that works well for garage, mechanic, gunsmithing, and handyman tasks. The magnets are described as very strong, with real-world use holding cast iron, a 25 pound brake rotor, and even a rotor against a quarter panel while pads are changed. It is also handy for keeping sockets and small tools from wandering, and the mat measures 11 5 eighths by 9 5 eighths inches. The main caveat is price and stock, since it has bounced from $19.99 to higher tags and is often hard to find in store, though the lifetime warranty adds some reassurance.

It's the latest meme tool.
I'm an apartment maintenance tech and do appliance and HVAC repairs regularly. This mat is certainly no meme, it's quite handy. I keep it in the document/laptop storage area of my Milwaukee tool backpack

Does that include water damage? Because, as we all know, magnets don't work anymore if you get them wet.

Magnets: how do they work?

They definitely don't like torches.

I understood that reference. We are truly living in an Idiocracy.
That being said, I managed to pick up the meme mat this morning. It is now in a place of high honor on the side of my garage fridge.

It has the power to hold your disc brake rotor to your quarter panel while you work on the pads, if you're into that sort of thing.

I have a level 3 certification in Magnetic Particle Testing... electro magnets can have a difficult time with water, but it may shock you learn that water has no effect on a simple magnet. You can ruin them by hitting them very hard to mix up the magnetic domains or heating them to curie temperature where a free flow of electrons will randomize the magnetic domains. You have 18,000 comments dude. And the same first name as me.

Pffft, you think people are going to believe an actual scientist over the great bloviator in the white house? Slickdeals used to have discussion forums in which I may have been a bit prolific, especially during election seasons.

We are on the same page. Carry on man. I didn't know slick deals had a political chat room. Probably better than getting censored on FB
