The Sofirn Q8 Plus is a huge flood-style flashlight that throws an almost sunlike wall of light and is praised as one of the brightest lights around. It has USB C charging, a 1 quarter inch by 20 threaded insert, and the 5000K to 5300K version is favored for better color on video. The main tradeoffs are size, weight, and heat, since it gets very hot on turbo and sustained high output may call for a handle. The bundled batteries are seen as convenient but not especially strong, so the deal feels best when the battery bundle pricing is favorable.
Common Questions (5)
If you already have a Q8 Plus, the SP36 Pro is usually the skip. The Q8 Plus is the larger flood-style light, while the SP36 Pro is cheaper and can be tempting with included batteries, but the Q8 Plus is the stronger pick for those who want the bigger lantern-like output.
Yes. It gets hot very quickly on the brightest and turbo settings, so a handle is recommended for sustained use. The front can become hot enough to be a burn risk, especially during long high-output runs.
The included 3x 21700 batteries are often treated as worth about $2-$3 each, and the flashlight itself can work out to under $10 when the battery bundle is discounted. That makes the package unusually strong if you want both the light and cells.
Yes, it has USB-C charging, so you do not need a separate battery charger for normal use. That makes it easier to bring camping, even though the included 21700 cells can also be swapped out.
The 5000K-5300K version is the better choice for video or film because it renders colors more naturally on camera. That tint is preferred when the light is being used as a filming light source.

The sp36pro is at $25(6k)/$28(5k). I know go big or go home but anyone think its worth getting the sp36pro after owning q8plus? Probably both are waste of money given their size/wt.
