Community Reviews
This Samsung microSD Express card is mainly about Switch 2 support and faster storage in devices built for the Express standard. It is backwards compatible with regular microSD slots, but in older Switches, phones, and most cameras it falls back to UHS I speeds, so the premium brings little benefit there. Benchmarks put it around 87 MB per second sequentially, with much lower random speeds, and the card has been flagged as incompatible with a modchipped Switch. At $48 for 256GB, it stands out as a name brand option in a tight market.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners who want faster game installs and loads, because MicroSD Express only delivers its speed advantage in devices designed for it.
Switch owners using an unmodified console who need expandable storage, because the card works in any microSD slot and still fits the host device's transfer limit.
Benchmark-minded storage tinkerers who compare cards by sequential and random performance, because it can post strong CrystalDiskMark results with solid random write speed.
Phone owners expecting a speed upgrade from expandable storage, because it falls back to UHS-I speeds and can be slower than cheaper UHS-II cards.
4K camera shooters who need sustained high-bitrate recording, because it can trigger slow-card warnings and jitter during fast-moving action.
Switch modchip users who want this card to work in a modified console, because it reportedly does not function there.

MicroSD Express is a new storage standard, and, unless your camera has the hardware to support it (and there aren't any on the market that do), the card can only run in backwards-compatibility mode, which is UHS-I speed, or ~1/3 as fast as UHS-II MicroSD cards.
There is pretty much only one reason to buy a MicroSD Express card right now is for a Nintendo Switch, because almost nothing else uses them.
FWIW, I'd rather not put words in your mouth. Since you didn't mention it, I figured you did not feel it worth factoring in.

As far as I know, there aren't any phones currently available or on the horizon that have dedicated PCIe lanes for external storage, which is what makes MicroSD Express ao much faster, so, while the cards are backwards compatible, the backwards compatibility mode is significantly slower than the fastest regular MicroSD cards.
