The Acer Aspire 14 AI is a 14 inch Core Ultra 7 laptop that looks strongest as a mainstream Windows machine with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The price is competitive versus the same model listed at B and H for $599, and an account coupon can shave it to $544.99. The main caution is the touchscreen confusion, since Acer confirmed this configuration is not touchscreen despite listing photos suggesting otherwise. Compatibility concerns also come up around the AI branding and Windows on Arm tradeoffs, especially for heavier or specialized software.

Common Questions (4)

  • No, this specific configuration is not touchscreen. The listing photos and some third-party pages suggest touch support, but Acer confirmed the exact model is non-touch and a received unit also came in without touchscreen functionality.

  • Yes, Windows for Arm includes Prism, which can run x86 software on Snapdragon/Arm systems. It can still add latency for intensive workloads, so compatibility is broad but not always ideal for heavy apps.

  • At $549.99, it is priced above some alternatives like a $464 Acer Snapdragon Elite 16GB/1TB deal and a previous 32GB RAM deal. It can still be a solid buy for normal users or students, especially if you want 1TB storage and don't need extra memory.

  • Yes, an account coupon can drop the price from $549.99 to $544.99. That makes the deal slightly cheaper, but only if the coupon is available on your account.

Hey hey 👋 Been looking at laptops, dell XPS died of self induced heat exposure
Mine also died, debating on this one, though the 14" is the only problem

That's not an x86 laptop, you really limit applications on Snapdragon PCs
Not really. At this point you really have to search for an x86 app that won't run on a snapdragon processor. Pretty much all my current apps and all of my steam library that I play regularly work on snapdragon. And the reliability and battery life is worth the tradeoff of needing to find alternatives to apps that won't run, if you can find any that won't run that is.

Contacted Acer via eBay. Their response is below:

You're very welcome, we're glad we could help.

No, this specific configuration is not a touchscreen.

If anything else comes up, you're always welcome to reach out.

Kind regards

Looks like a solid deal (for what's available now) on a good power efficient compact laptop.

What AI am I supposed to be running?
Not the OP but if it has "AI" in the name, it seems kinda misleading if it's not very good at that.

Correct, I just got it in and its NOT touchscreen. Kind of annoyed about that and the main listing photos STILL shows it is touchscreen.
