I also have this X2 model and you absolutely can set a target temperature as high as 212 degrees but only when you are using the SETUP mode.

To access SETUP mode, select the probe you're going to be using (#1 or #2), then press the MEAT button until the SETUP icon (2 gears) appears. Press the "up/down" buttons to set your desired target temperature.

I got one of these several weeks ago with the plan to replace my Meater Block. You cannot program this one for a high ending temp (like 203 degrees) that I want for my brisket or pork butt. I would not recommend it.

Mine was a little less I had 6 bucks from somewhere
Items: I had the bluetooth one that had the phone app and it worked OK but I think I tossed the probe with my foil. So looking for another.
Found this was more accurate than my wired probe in my GE Smoker.

There was a post the other day that had the G2 version for $50. That gives you WiFi and app connectivity, as well as ambient temps up to 932°.
Seems worth the price difference if that deal is still available.

Seems like a good price. I picked up the P2 for $10 more a couple weeks ago, otherwise I'd be all over this.

Pretty confusing line-up, as I see this other X2 at $69.99, looking identical to this $103 one. But the coupon only works on the more expensive model.

Also, I know this doesn't require an app, but can you use an app with it if you want to?
The reviews seem mixed about this topic.

The app-based 1 sensor models are on sale too for about the same price. This $39.99 one comes with a free stand-alone thermometer..

Yep, no problem setting mine. Make sure when using you don't accidentally have it on ambient temp....ask me how I know.

Yeah, I find it weird that it doesn't say it can use the app on the Amazon product page. Looking at some YT reviews on this specific model doesn't mention it either but the product page on ThermoMaven's own website DOES say it can connect to your phone/app via BT/WiFi if you so choose.

On your first point, it's the same model on that page. The price change is because of the different sellers. The $69.99 price is being sold by "Culinary Innovation" A complete 3rd party seller, not affiliated with TM nor Amazon. To use the coupon, you have to buy directly from TM on Amazon and not the other seller. That's why the initial price is higher. Amazon automatically displays the seller that they consider is giving you the "best deal" when you open the page. It doesn't take into account coupon codes so you have to click on the "Other Sellers" box on the page and then make sure you're purchasing from "ThermoMaven-US"

Where on ThermoMaven's website does it say it can connect to the app? I didn't find anything on https://www.thermomaven.com/products/x2
