I have a toro brand 60v batter powered mower and I love not using gas. 17inch and 4 amp hours really does mean 1/4 acre lawn though. Or get a 2nd battery and be prepared for it to take a little longer

once you go electric you will never go back, no more gas buying , no more gas and exhaust fumes, no oil change no all this BS coming with an Gas mower.

i personally got the 21 inch mower if 17 inch is enough for you go for this one is an awesome price usually the 4 AH battery alone goes for 100-130

Anyone who owns this mower, can you please share how this mower's weight impacts your mowing abilities such as turning or pulling it backwards? Asking because I want to get one for my aunt who lives alone and has arthritis. She can't pull start a gas mower so that's the extend of her strength to pull a mower backwards while mowing.

If it's a push, it won't be self propelled, but the picture shows that it has self propel. I think the picture is of the higher model.

Wrong. I was electric for years and I finally conceded and went back to a gas mower. I was tired of the lack of power and battery constantly giving out way quicker if I let my grass grow taller than a couple inches.

Gas is so much more powerful and consistent. I bought a nice Yardmax self propelled and it's great. Gave the electric to a relative.

I love my 60v mower but I could never use a 17". 21" minimally, 22" better.
If you have a small lot, this 17" would be great, but consider the number of laps required given the amount of path overlap to catch all blades of grass. 3"-4" overlap is good to use

I had the 80v and it worked well. It is correct you cannot let it get too long, it will choke and turn off, so you have to mow more consistently. But, if you do that, it def has advantages over gas. No smells, no oil changes, no priming, no maintenance, the only thing you need to do is sharpen the blades. Easy to charge and go. It makes you keep your lawn shorter so it's not such a bad thing.

It looks like a push model. Their self propelled models have a second set of levers in gray to activate the self propelling. The green levers are the safety feature for the motor/blade.

Gas is more forgiving if you let the lawn get too long, but otherwise, I've never had an issue with my Ego mower and I've had it and the original battery for 8 years now. I don't want to think about how much of my tinnitus was caused by using loud gas mowers most of my life.

Pull a mower backwards while mowing?

I hope she never falls, she could pull the mower over her feet. Some people cling to things as they fall, and might not release a mower handle.

A battery self propelled sounds like good option for your aunt. Hopefully you can find a solution for her.

I have the 80V 21" self-propelled version of this Greenworks mower. This pic is from last weekend.
I also have a 40V Ryobi and 60V Wesco (both 21" / self propelled).

Because earmuffs is such a space age technology only available to the elitists with champagne and caviar, right?
