Yamaha HS8S
The Yamaha HS8S 8" Powered Subwoofer features an eight-inch cone woofer that is capable of up to 150W of output. It can reproduce frequencies down to 22Hz and features variable low and high cut filters between 80 and 120Hz. You can connect to the HS8S through its stereo XLR or 1/4" TRS inputs. It also has stereo XLR extension sub outputs.

Yamaha HS8S Features
  • HS Series cabinets are designed to eliminate unwanted resonance and increase the accuracy of sound reproduction to their extreme limit. The enclosures are constructed from a dense MDF with a damped acoustic response
  • HS Series engineers also employed a traditional three-way mitered-joint technique. Common to architectural design, this construction firmly anchors the corners of the enclosure to improve durability and eliminate unwanted resonance that can influence overall sound
  • Speaker port design can greatly influence the clarity of overall sound. Often a vortex at the either end of the port can generate air vibrations inside of the port, causing unwanted noise
  • By adopting a noise reduction technology that incorporates an analysis of a visual representation of the sound, Yamaha's engineers are able to control and reduce the vortex. Through this analysis Yamaha has arrived at a port design that reduces noise up to 6dB
  • The HIGH CUT control sets the cutoff frequency of subwoofer output high-frequency attenuation from 80Hz to 120Hz, while PHASE switch adjusts the phase of the subwoofer output
  • The LOW CUT switch and LOW CUT controls enables attenuation of low frequencies for output between 80Hz and 120Hz. The HS8S subwoofer is equipped with XLR and TRS phone jack inputs and for outputs XLR for L and R and EXT SUB out

I feel like this should be 149 at Best Buy or something . What so special? Much better subs out there for this price . Unless I'm missing something about this 150 watt banger

These are $775 now!? They were $500 not even two years ago. Insane.

This a $200 sub at best, what horrible pricing? I love Yamaha, but I would not ever buy this at any price.

I cannot believe the price of this! It looks like a 20 year old Polk. Also, the ONLY way to get deep bass from an 8" woofer is with 700+ watts. At 150 watts it will feel like a computer speaker.

This might be one of the biggest jokes I've ever seen on Slickdeals. $500 for this 8" sub is asinine. I'm actually in a bit of shock that anyone gave this deal a 👍 because it is just that idiotic. Anyone who thinks that this is a good deal might just deserve to lose their money. Please, people, do at least some tiny bit of research into this stuff before posting or buying. This is marketed as a high end studio subwoofer and not for home theater or standard sound system scenarios. It gets rave reviews but the physical size doesn't defy physics and will get nowhere even close to 22hz before limiters cut it off so it doesn't blow. Yes, it is a specialized piece of equipment but no, it should not cost this much.
Absolutely ridiculous

Honestly, I was going to say maybe $125 at full retail. This is the biggest joke I've seen in a long while on here

RSL 10e is 40 dollars off with the Father's Day offer. I am a big fan of Yamaha but this sub does not hold a candle to the RSL at the 299$ price. I own the Speedwoofer 10, 10s, 12s (this one is a killer) and most recently the 10e for my home office. It pairs nicely with the Klipsch Fives and RSL CG23's with the crossover dialed in at 80hz. Save some money and add some performance.
