Hi Everyone,

I believe this would be a great promo and if you port your existing number to Cricket Wireless you can get the phone for $10. You will need to prepay $60.00 for 3 months and that would be total of $180.00. This is an Iphone 16e for 128GB.

"Phone may be restricted to Cricket network until completion of 6 months of service after activation."

would this mean that I would have to have 6 months service? It says "may be" which is super grey area imo. Anyone use cricket or has done this can elaborate?

Yes with Cricket you would need to have 6 months of service. It is not a gray area and all MNVO has some kind rules if you want to get inexpensive phones which are discounted.

I agree with you it is a better deal then other which will require a 1 year before unlock like Metro PCS, Boost Mobile.
I just did the (slightly) better deal last week of Free phone with 3 months (got 2 as both kids needed new phones). First phone was 180 and second was only 150 if you buy on same new account. As I am already on Cricket it's a no brainer because the phones will be on for 6 months

Yes right but I don't understand why people are shocked that the phone is locked for 6 months. Most people should know if you get a discounted phone there something things that it's acts like a trade off e.g. you have to stay for xx months until the phone can be unlocked. I a waiting for the Iphone 17e to be on sale.

Right! Hence my "FFS" to the other guy haha. People are like wow maybe I can even get around a 6 month lockup period "gray area". Why would there be a gray area. Cricket isn't in the business of just giving away nearly free unlocked iphones haha

Even if reselling it's 50 bucks after fees. Why bother. Keep it.

wow my questions warrants a FFS? ouch. If it was legally binding - the words "may be restricted" would definitely be grey area.

After chatting with rep - yes - 6 months of service is needed to unlock. So you could switch over to the $15/month 3 month plan.

$10 -phone, $180 - 3 month promo, $45 - 3 month $15 plan

$235 for an iphone 16e

If you need an upgrade seems like an okay deal with 6 months of service.
Yes the phone is $10 and after you PREPAY 3 months of $60 THEN you can LOWER the plan for 3 months and then you can unlock your phone then. Still $235 for an Iphone 16e is better then paying full price of $599.00 But then the $599.00 will get the Iphone unlocked already so there's a trade off as you can see. Remember anything that is discounted especially for phones there has to be you have will to say xx amount of months before the phone can be unlocked.

Yes there is no gray area. I agree with you Cricket is a business and now to give away free phone like an Iphone. With Android phones that's a different story.

Some people can't afford apple so that is why people go through prepaid to get discounted phones and cheaper plans.

For Metro, you do not need one year of active service. All you have to do is pay for a month, and let it sit in your drawer or use it as an WiFi-only iPod Touch, and it'll still unlock after a year.

Jeez, get off your high horse. I don't troll slickdeals for wireless deals on the daily. Having that kind of language in the terms and conditions to an outside person seems stupid - hence the question.

I wasn't trying to get something for nothing. I was asking what I thought was a legitimate question from my perspective and got flamed for being stupid and not understanding the world of business for the last 50 years.

Talk about toxic. smdh

Oh really? This is what is says on Metro PCS about unlocking the phone:

Three hundred sixty-five (365) days must have passed since the device's activation date.

I think he is saying the same. You can activate and you don't need to actually pay for a year of service. But you still have to wait out the year.

I felt it worth buying. But then, I saw Boost mobile doing free iPhone 17e with just one month of service it said.
