It's killing weeds, not grass.

Roundup (glyphosate) will also kill your lawn. This is "turf safe" below 90°F. Hence the reason they go on sale during the heat of the summer.

Different type of product. Roudup kills all vegetation this only kills weeds keeping the grass

2.50 less means... $10.00 - $2.50 = $7.50, 2.50 less of 10 is 7.50, just to be clear and here is the link: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Spectrac...1000783744

Not the same. Active ingredients are very different. If you have crabgrass spectracide won't be very effective

Anyone else noticing all the reviews are part of a paid promotion? I think Lowe's uses Influenster to seed free products in exchange for reviews. I'm not saying the reviews are inherently biased but there is a reason that paid reviews are out there. I've honestly not had good results with many Ortho and Spectracide products in the last couple of years or so...

Just apply first thing in the morning and you're fine. Works well on that midseason crabgrass outbreak I tend to get.

Any SDers got tips for using these hose bottles successfully? I've tested the water pressure at my hose spigot but attaching them to a 50 foot hose the product never mixes and I basically just get water coming out. Last one of these I sprayed for 20 minutes and used about 1 tenth of the product in the bottle.

There are grass safe versions of Roundup- "Roundup for lawns", not just the glyphosate based one. I've gotten my lawn to the point where I only need to spot treat for crabgrass, no other weeds. Small amount of crabgrass managed to pop up this year even though I use a pre-emergent treatment in early spring. Ortho Weed B Gone concentrate is my go to for the crabgrass, I mix it in a spray bottle to spot treat instead of dousing the entire lawn. Timing is everything in early spring, pre-emergent goes down when the forsythias in the neighborhood start to bloom. I'm in northern NJ.

Maybe you got a defective one? Or maybe you are spinning the dial to the "pass thru" side? If you have decent water pressure, the length of the hose is really not a factor. I've never had an issue other than there always being a small amount left in the bottom of the bottle when you're done. On the topic of hoses, get yourself a craftsman rubber hose, it will outlive you LOL.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I use a craftsman black rubber hose ironically and every bottle I try has done the same thing so I keep assuming user error but there's only so much that you can do wrong. I of course shake the bottle and make a good connection and open the spout. I'll have to try another hose hookup rather than the one in the back yard. Bought two bottles and both behaved the same way. The bottle should exhaust in around 5 to 10 minutes of spraying tops I'd think?
