I get what you mean, and for a small basic planter the Target ones are a good deal. I just don't think they're the same product category. This is a 48" Mayne box with a double-wall reservoir, UV-resistant polyethylene, and use steel mounting brackets. There are definitely cheaper window boxes, but the $10 ones are much smaller and lighter-duty, so the price difference is not only about it being self-watering.
