The future that the big corporations have wanted since the subscription era began.

I absolutely refuse. So sick of pay to never own subscriptions. I hope this isn't the absolute future.

Great deal! But keep in mind that signing up adds another monthly subscription to your budget and another drop of demand in the AI data center bucket

I don't like the idea of this basically being infrastructure-as-a-service. You still have to supply the games for the most part. If it was basically like Game Pass Ultimate but with a massive PC library, I'd be all for it at $130 a year.

Tempting but even with the discount you need to use it more than 16 days a year to come out ahead versus the day pass, and more than 6 months per year to come out ahead vs the monthly pass. I've found that when I do use the service I use it in bursts either because I get some free time or because there is some very performance demanding game I cannot play otherwise, so the annual plan doesn't make much sense for me personally.

If I had an old computer and reliable internet I guess I would consider this but I have the opposite... internet is always bad - both wired ISP and my cellular, so I guess this isn't for me

Make sure you youtube how cloud gaming is, i personally dont see its worth and wouldn't do it. a lot of cloud gaming hinges on your internet speed and size
lot of youtubers do comparisons and whatnot, worth checking it out if you're interested

Now that they've priced consumers out of being able to afford gaming hardware (and RAM and storage with these AI shenanigans), this is the next step towards 'you'll own nothing and like it." Give the prolls some cheap entertainment for awhile, and then start enshitifiying the experience over the next decade. Forget that, I'll play my backlog.
Don't forget you are at their mercy for everything. Constant price increases, time limitations with new plans added where you can pay more to get more time, and don't forget ads will be thrown in there eventually. It irritates the hell out of me that people are so thick they can't see the bigger picture.

I'm not going to reason with you, but for anyone reading this is where you can find the differences from NVIDIA themselves: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/gefo...mberships/
The performance plan puts you on 3060 class hardware. This is something you can get yourself in a used PC for $500 or otherwise very similar to PS5 / Series X. I would argue that the ultimate tier is the only one that makes any sense.

All that polluting from data centers just to make people pay 65 bucks to stream games. What a bad joke.

It really depends on what games you play. I tried this in the past. Despite 400Mbps connection, action (souls and wukong) and FPS (COD) games are very challenging. The colors also tend to look washed out compared to a local GPU.

I had geforce now for quite bit of time since the begin. The service is not bad it just doesn't have enough games. They added some big title over the years like fortnite, warzone, forza horizon. The service used to only offer 6-month and monthly. If you missed the renewal anniversary they would auto renew you unless you turned off auto renewal. The performance tier is crap it is limited to 60 fps. Ultimate is too much 130 per year is a lot unless you have extremely fast internet and a pc with 2.5gbp nic minimum and are hard wired to your router. They have a new install game feature that lets you install games that aren't in their catalog to play but I am noy sure how that works or its limitations
