Most people haven't even figured out why they need protein, how much they need, or whether they're getting enough each day. They jump straight to buying expensive shakes without understanding the basics.
For a lot of people, a tub of protein powder is cheaper, gives more servings, and accomplishes the exact same goal.

Most people haven't even figured out why they need protein, how much they need, or whether they're getting enough each day. They jump straight to buying expensive shakes without understanding the basics.
For a lot of people, a tub of protein powder is cheaper, gives more servings, and accomplishes the exact same goal.
For example, I weight 175lbs. 175lbs = 79.3 kilograms. 79.3 X 80% = 63.44 grams of protein per day.
To simplify an easier rule is to take 1 gram of protein for your weight in kilograms. In that case I would need 79.3 grams of protein per day.
Proteins all have 4 calories per gram. So I need to eat 4 X 63.4 = 256.76 calories per day from protein (or 4 X 79.3 = 317 calories to round).
If you exceed these amounts any unused protein will be converted first to carbs and if unused stored as fat.
