This compact 40 piece SAE and metric socket set is best as a cheap emergency kit or grab and go backup for a car, boat, or tool bag. The sockets are described as nicely chromed, the handle as heavy, and the case as better than the similar Harbor Freight version. It is also handy for quickly finding the right size before switching to a higher quality tool. The main drawback is the ratchet, which is repeatedly described as flimsy or trash, with durability concerns and a case clip that can break. A low cost spare when convenience matters more than longevity.

Metal case with the cheesiest clasp that never quite held, the insert which was made of disintegratium.
Was the only thing I could afford back then. Bonanza 88 specials.
