This mini PC is a compact Ryzen 7 7735HS box best suited for everyday computing, media serving, light gaming, and server tasks. The Radeon 680M and 24GB of RAM are described as strong enough for Plex, Jellyfin, Steam Link, game servers, and lighter games like Roblox, Minecraft, and League of Legends, with support for three 4K monitors. Main cautions are the weaker 680M versus newer 780M systems, soldered LPDDR5 5500 memory, and a 512GB PCIe SSD that may be only third gen. Thermals, fan quality, and past ACEMAGIC security concerns also come up, so a fresh Windows install or Linux is often recommended.

Common Questions (6)

  • It is a decent deal for a strong mini PC, but several price checks suggest it has been cheaper before, with past mentions around $300-$325 and similar newer 780M-based systems sometimes costing only a bit more. The main tradeoff is that this model uses the older Radeon 680M instead of the faster 780M.

  • Yes, the Ryzen 7 7735HS and Radeon 680M are strong enough for a Plex or Jellyfin box, including multiple 4K Dolby Vision/Atmos streams and general server tasks. It is also described as a good fit for a play computer or media server, though heavier always-on workloads may benefit from extra cooling.

  • Yes. The NVMe drive can be swapped, and several comments note the M.2 SSD can run hot enough to benefit from a heatsink; some users also add a laptop fan or USB cooling pad for always-on use.

  • A clean Windows install is commonly recommended before using it, especially because older ACEMAGIC units were tied to malware/spyware concerns. Reinstalling Windows 11 from Microsoft and updating BIOS/drivers is the practical way to start from a known-clean system.

  • It can handle lighter games like Roblox, Minecraft, and League of Legends comfortably, and it can emulate ROMs well. Heavier games such as Valorant, GTA V, and Elden Ring are reported to be nearly unplayable even at 720p with settings turned down, so it is not a hardcore gaming machine.

  • It can run three 4K monitors, but not four. If you need a multi-display setup, three 4K outputs are the practical limit mentioned for this model.

Can you swap out the hard drives on these?

Any reason I couldn't use this as an always on machine that runs cloud based LLMs?
I'd be interested in knowing this or some other recommendations regarding this query

I don't see any reason you couldn't swap out the NVMe drive.
You should be able to use pretty much ANY computer for that function. I think that you could configure something like Open WebUI to do this.

I'm interested in a mini PC like this, but would prefer to buy a brand NOT from mainland China. Any suggestions from the community?
First of all... what is your problem with China? You don't want it made in China... well you need to explain this to ALL THE US manufacturers.

BUT to answer your question... mini PC motherboards are manufactured entirely in China.

The CPU/GPU is made in TAIWAN
The memory is soldiered (probably made in China)
The motherboard is made in China
The hard drive is probably made in China.

So WHY... what is your issue with CHINA? But the best you can do is buy a bare bone system and buy the memory and hard drive you want.

Dell, HP, Lenovo. Which often come from mainland China as well. But at least you theoretically get better support.
I don't get this 100%... if your device turns on... and you do a stress test within the first 48hours and passes... what is the chance of it breaking... close to 0%.

I have never had a PC break on me for no reason.

I see Dells at a lot of doctor's offices that look interesting. Many attatch to the back of monitors. Based on the specs, you're looking at $1k or more. I'd say this offer is pretty good for play computer or media server.
Why? The Dell is made and asembled in China.. .the guy said he does not want to by CHINESE made products, so you tell him to buy a Dell that is more then twice the price? LOL...

up to 4.75GHz high speed processor
AND THAT IS MY PROBLEM...

The very next AMD CPU will have the 780m which is a HUGE upgrade in graphics. I would look for a 7840HS or a 8745HS. But what gets me is that you can find them for this price on ebay (plus or minus $25).

And I don't think I would recommend soldered RAM on a mini pc.

Does it matter you you why? Why do my preferences matter to you? And Taiwan is NOT mainland China. Furthermore AceMagic (formerly Ace Magician)was caught shipping several of its mini PCs with factory-installed malware. Independent security researchers, YouTubers, and virus scanners (such as Windows Defender and VirusTotal) found spyware—specifically credential-stealers like the Redline malware family and Bladabindi—hidden in the Windows recovery folder and RGB lighting control software.... So lack of ethics & quality control.

Well said. The problem with these Chinese makes is they use no name bottom bin components with next to no support. Good luck finding drivers if you want to reinstall Windows/Linux.

You mean like Sony, with their rootkit, or Apple with their forced U2 album, Ford and Chevy both covering up fatality causing defects in their vehicles which they deemed cheaper to pay lawsuits than repair, that sort of "lack of ethics & quality control"? Spare me the fake outrage. It is just as bad to claim something is still happening when it isn't. That's lack of ethics as well.
Acemagic: "Our software developers, in an effort to enhance user experience by reducing initial boot time, made adjustments to the Microsoft source code, including network settings, without obtaining software digital signatures, and the RGB lighting control software was also without one. This oversight led to isolated reports of virus-infected mini PCs manufactured before November 18, 2023."
They were lax in their digital signature network security a couple of years ago when trying to make their slow devices faster. That resulted in viruses able to get onto systems. There was no hardware or software "malware" installed, the digital security software has long since been strengthened, and there have been no repeats of the problem. Fake outrage over things like this when trying to get a computer on the cheap is silly.
It would be better to stick to facts in the present tense, with the present device, such as information on whether it lives up to its stated specs and prices.

Anyone recommend this as a more reliable Plex server than a Synology NAS?
