This mini PC is a compact Ryzen 7 7735HS box best suited for everyday computing, media serving, light gaming, and server tasks. The Radeon 680M and 24GB of RAM are described as strong enough for Plex, Jellyfin, Steam Link, game servers, and lighter games like Roblox, Minecraft, and League of Legends, with support for three 4K monitors. Main cautions are the weaker 680M versus newer 780M systems, soldered LPDDR5 5500 memory, and a 512GB PCIe SSD that may be only third gen. Thermals, fan quality, and past ACEMAGIC security concerns also come up, so a fresh Windows install or Linux is often recommended.

I think it's clear why people would be concerned and you shouldn't shame people for being mindful of security. Did you somehow miss the malware scandal with ACEMAGICIAN machines? How about some of their subsidiaries and competitors? You clearly don't understand what oversight system integrators have or their role in hardware security.
Per Acemagic, the company they used to install the OS installed this malware. Acemagic claims they had no clue and other companies also used this third party and the same viruses showed up on their devices as well. BOTTOM LINE... Acemagic produced and shipped mini PCs with pre-installed spyware and malware in systems manufactured before November 18, 2023. Just make sure you buy hardware that Acemagic used only after November 18, 2023 such as this CPU or the 7840HS or the 8745HS.

BUT FORGET ABOUT THAT...

If you did purchase an infected PC TODAY (old stock)... all you need to do is run windows defender virus software and it would find the viruses and clean your PC.

Windows 11 Pro is registered with Microsoft through the motherboard's serial number. Regardless of what PC you buy YOU REALL SHOULD.... (I have done this with EVERY SINGLE PC I OWN)
1. Download a fresh copy of Windows 11 straight from Microsoft (don't need to know any registration info... already registered to your PC though motherboard's serial number.)
2. Use Rufus to create a usb thumb drive (at least 16GB in size), I like to disable logging into microsoft and with Rufus you can create a USB thumb drive that you do not need to log into microsoft to install Windows
3. BEFORE you install anything, I advice you to download all drivers and place them on another usb thumb drive.
4. make sure your Bios from the manufacture is upto date... that is you have the newest version.
5. Combine all hard drive partitions
6. INSTALL A CLEAN COPY OF WINDOWS.
7. First driver to make sure works should be the WLan driver so you can access your wifi network... May already be working.
8. Now go to Edge, go to google.com and search, "AMD DRIVERS INSTALLATION SOFTWARE" and go to AMD and install this software and let it update your drivers.
9. Update Windows... this may take some time and you may need to do this multiple times.
10. Usually, all your drivers will be working but you should double check by going to "device manager" and make sure everything is populated and working.

IF YOU DO THIS, you will never have to worry about having an effected hard drive or need to worry about bloatware. I have done this for every single computer I have ever owned in my life. AND when you install a clean OS... the speed of your computer shines. BUT this mini PC comes super clean out of the box. One of the things People LOVE about mini pc(s).

Right now, I have brought my mini PC back to specs and plan to sell it used on EBAY. I have a 8745HS. 16GB and 512GB. Hope to get $400. And I just performed a complete reinstall with WIndows 11. (so I just did all those steps above).

I want to add that the laptop I am typing on is a 3rd gen i7, I upgraded the RAM to 16GB DDR 2 (8GB x 2) and I installed a Samsung 970 1TB SSD. This laptop is approximately 14 years old and is still running well and is still getting updates from Microsoft. I am thinking about installing Windows 11 this Xmas (official date when Microsoft will no longer update WIndows 10)... I can use RUFUS to bypass the system restrictions to install Windows 11.

Again-- WHY does it matter to you? I asked a simple question asking for suitable NON-mainland China options. Yes, they're hard to avoid, so there may not be any. That said, If you don't have a useful comment that addresses the focus of my question, then I don't need to hear your non-sequitir responses. Just let it go dude and good luck with your AceMagic.

I am just curious... like it is ALL of the USA's manufacture ring has gone to China so they can exploit cheap labor and lower EPA standards. I would think you would be proud of your American companies.

And I already stated that "every single mini pc motherboard is made in China", that is mini pc this form factor. Hating on China to me is the MOST USELESS comment a person can make. Think about it.

I'm interested in a mini PC like this, but would prefer to buy a brand NOT from mainland China. Any suggestions from the community?
minisforum is fine, acemagician... these are the guys that had spyware in their bios/firmware and were called out for it

If you play games all the time.... or are stressing the CPU all the time, I recommend a laptop fan underneath. But it looks like their customer service is TOP NOTCH.
Never played games on it. It was a file server connected to some external hard drives in my cold basement. It lasted less than 6 months. The top, where the RAM and NVME drive are, was always hot. The fan for the CPU is underneath, a cooling pad underneath wouldn't have helped the ram, unless the PC was upside down. I doubt that would have helped, the hard drive and RAM were against a aluminum plate, but there was no airflow and the plate was against the plastic shell. I've dealt with their support, not "TOP NOTCH". I didn't agree to the €100 partial refund, they just sent $100 refund, less than what they promised, and less than the cost to replace the bad RAM.

I wonder how long RAM prices are going to be high for. For $395, I'd have hoped for maybe 32GB or RAM and 1TB of SSD.

This brand was known for malware and bloatware on it from the factory. Advice I was given is to wipe it clean and reinstall a fresh copy of windows.

Even if the AI bubble were to pop today, it would probably take years for pricing to go down. And even if it does, I have my doubts that it will go back down to levels it used to be.
