Just stopped at HF and TSC to make a comparison.

The TSC makes just about every compromise to get at the lower price, but I don't think you can find anything as large for $320-400

It isn't a piece of junk, that's for sure.

The biggest compromise is the depth difference, and the thickness of the steel didn't seem too drastic, unless you're really tough on your tools.

The slides were OK, but they also seemed to close with no extra effort. I didn't check if they were auto closing in the specs, but they did close without me pushing them all the way in.

So the tsc is a compromise, but you're not getting anything close to that large for so little

**EDIT** Looks like they are soft close, and can confirm it

**EDIT2** I should mention I couldn't test the TSC casters as the chest is tied to the wall behind it

This is more comparable to the Kobalt in terms of specs and what is on sale ATM. HF USG and Yukon make toolboxes but dissimilar in spec, feature, and size.

Great deal.

Price. You're looking at over $1000 for a US General 42" combo.
They're routinely 20% off. Regardless, if price is your only measure, then ya I guess this is better since it's cheaper.

However in no functional way is this box better. 😂

Comparable to US General or Husky?
maybe US generals 10 years ago but the new stuff puts this to shame. but for a home DIYer I bet this will be just fine till you out grow it. I say buy what your budget can afford.

I think i like the top box configuration to the US General but the USG has a better bottom box layout. thats just my opinion if when i first decided i was buying a box i would have quickly snatched this up just to save money. but i did wait and got a 56 USG top and bottom with a side locker and saide drawers when it was all 20 or 25% off and got the credit card so 0% interest for like 3 years and i got the color i wanted.....well not really they didnt make the purple yet lol but after seeing it on a box im not a fan i wish it would have been exactly like the jack with the metal flake in it

Even with 20% off. US General is going to cost over $800. At over twice the price, it sure as hell better be better.

Seems like $400 should be the MSRP. That is one shallow, thin tool chest!

I mean if you want it for storage and don't care how shit the slides are in 2 years... Then yeah it's fine. Like I said, it's cheap as hell. Personally I'd never put a shit box in my garage, disposing of it would be a pain.

Toolbox is a buy it once item in my mind.
Feel free to argue about the quality of the slides all you want. My point is simply that the prices of the US General toolboxes are in a different league compared to this one.

Not everyone just wants a cheap POS box. Like I said already, price is the only good thing about this box. Crazy you're following me around (trolling?) when I'm just giving people information.
