Wow, I bought one of these before and Love them. the 4 person and the 6. But you have to buy a rainfly for $50 or more to really enjoy them and have privacy. I am just astounded by the price. Granted looking at my Amz account it was 10 Yrs ago... I only paid $89 bucks. $99 with Calif Tax. Now with tax would be $194 bucks almost double. Wow, things are just getting expensive.

We have the 4 person version of this and really loved it but it's not for 4 people, it's barely big enough for 2 adults with a queen mattresses inside. So if you want to sleep 4, I recommend getting the 6.

I purchased their 10 person version and haven't had a chance to use it yet, but the instant setup system is so much better than dealing with poles.

Had the 8 person version for ten years, used a couple times per year for Scouts. I would routinely set up my tent alone in less time than anyone else. In the last year, the sealing tape started to come out and I recently set it up in my backyard to dry without staking it down and a large wind blew it over and broke a pole.

Tempted to get this as a replacement.

I had the 8 man one that's about 10 years old, literally broke yesterday at a scout camp!

I guess I hadn't extended one leg at the top and was trying to pull the lower one and pulled too hard it broke. Maybe could've used some Lube or something as every time the poles starts getting harder to extend.

May or may not pick up this 6 person. 8 person was perfect for 4, maybe even roomy. 6 person might be snug.

Not sure if I should go with a traditional pole tent tho

As others are saying, these are significantly more expensive than they used to be even a few years ago. Whatever the number of people you want to have in the tent, double it and buy that size tent if you want a bit of space inside. Honestly, I wouldn't buy smaller than the 6-person even if you just expect to have two people. They're also heavier than a normal tent because of the integrated collapsible poles.

That being said, after you do it once in the backyard, you should be able to set this tent up in under 60 seconds with a beer in one hand. Then you sit in your chair and relax, watching others trying to connect poles together and cursing at their partners.
