Community Reviews
This Hyper Tough 12V brushless drill driver looks like a compact around the house tool for light drilling and driving, with a small, lightweight feel and decent performance for the price. The brushless design and included battery make it appealing for basic 12V tool kits, and the low price stands out against pricier name brands. The main drawback is weaker output than other Hyper Tough 12V options, with torque around 21 Nm or 180 inch pounds, and the included bits are poor. It reads as a handy starter drill, especially if you only need everyday tasks.
Common Questions (4)
It is a small, lightweight drill that works well for basic around-the-house tasks and light driver duty. It is also described as a decent old-design rebadge of the Porter Cable PCL120DD, but not a high-power option for tougher fasteners.
This $22.97 drill is rated around 180 in-lb, or about 21 Nm, with a 1.5A battery. The higher-priced Hyper Tough 12V Max model is rated at 360 in-lb with a 2.0A battery, so it is the stronger option for heavier drilling and driving.
If you do not already have 12V tools, this set is considered worth it. The battery and tool price are low enough that it can be a practical entry point for light-duty home use.
The drill itself is considered fine for the price, but the included drill bits are poor. Plan on using your own bits if you want better results.

First I find that the Chuck will release itself -spontaneously- if you're trying to unscrew/unbolt something and the screw/nut won't turn. Not acceptable! You don't want your torx-bit falling out of your drill, and onto the floor because of a tough fastener.
In addition it doesn't have enough power; not close to my old 12v Ryobi drill.
It's going back to WalMart.
This one $23 12v is weaker 180 inch lb with 1.5A battery.
The $46 Max 12v is powerful semi-pro 360 inch lb with 2.0A battery. It's YouTube favorite with demo showing it can drill 130 wood holes in one charge.
