Bought the 2 drill deal and the batteries wouldn't charge because they 5 years old and from what porter told me that's what happens when they haven't been charged for a long time.
BUT, I did a search and found a way to jump start them to get them to charge and it works. Here are the instructions, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SOe...p=2AFgkAIB

Porter Cable at Tractor Supply looks like a cheap way to pick up basic cordless and corded tools for home use, especially drills, impacts, saws, grinders, and even the corded angle grinder and recip saw. The tools are described as solid for occasional projects, and the batteries can be adapted to Black and Decker or Ridgid setups with a little modification or an adapter. Availability is the big catch, with many items showing out of stock or clearance status, and some batteries arriving too old to charge normally. It works best if you already have compatible batteries or can find local stock.

Impact driver = think driving long screws into wood, like deck screws
Impact wrench = think unscrewing large and/or difficult to remove nuts from bolts, like lug nuts
And yes, people modify the tools to do a variety of tasks not originally intended or designed for the tool. No judgement here, it's your tool, do whatever works, as long as you avoid injury. But the more common use for each is listed above.
So to answer your question, an impact wrench is preferred for removing lug nuts, even when changing tires alongside toads. Just remember, torque the lug nuts to spec by hand and not overtighten with an impact. The toads won't care, but your wheels and rotors do.
