I agree it's not a fair fight, so him saying the $300 10e is better than the $1200 SB-3000 just sounded funny.
If you have the space, and it's for home theater...these are fine for a $300 sub... but they're a $300 sub.
Btw, I'd prob just replace it, the. Just keep an eye open for a cheap plate amp or even one just get one that fits from parts express, then you'd have 2 subs or you could sell it or use in another setup.

The RSL10E is an entry level sub but imo, it's truly THE starting point for real LFE/bass. If you're wanting RP1400 level output, maybe consider the RSL 12S, HSU VTF-2 mk5, OSD FS15, or Tonewinner D4000. (Those are just ported options). Also, if your on a budget, you could get 2 RSL 10e for $600 on this sale.
For some reason you thought I said sealed subs were not good for home theater.

To be fair, you definitely didn't "type" that sealed subs are good for home theater either.
At the very least, you insinuated sealed are "better" for music, ported are "better" for movies.
Anyways, all I did was say what you didn't "type".
