I'm not comparing the models, I'm comparing the design. Ported vs sealed, for starters.

I agree it's not a fair fight, so him saying the $300 10e is better than the $1200 SB-3000 just sounded funny.

If you have the space, and it's for home theater...these are fine for a $300 sub... but they're a $300 sub.
I actually am impressed by the RSL. If you have the space, they make a great sub for the office to complement bookshelf speakers or for a smaller living room. I dont think you can come close for $300.

I was just looking at this sub
Same. Was looking for a sub to pair with my edifier m90s and people recommended this one. Had never heard of them before yesterday and now it's on FP of slickdeals, lol. I guess it's a sign.

More sub deals please! I have a ~20 year old Martin Logan 12" sub with (I think) a bad amp, which I loved when it was working, and have been trying to figure out what to do with it (fix or replace).
any of the RSL subs, Starke sound if ya want sealed. Hsu vtf if you want good low end, Tonewinner D4000/D6000 for ported high power or maybe Sunmit Hifi dual 15" sealed or their new Pretium 18" sealed unit.
Btw, I'd prob just replace it, the. Just keep an eye open for a cheap plate amp or even one just get one that fits from parts express, then you'd have 2 subs or you could sell it or use in another setup.

Should probably reread what I typed.
Sorry, here is what I read:
"For home theater, I assume?.If for music"
"Then get sealed. Better for music"
"Being ported, this is better for movies than music"

Am I reading your points here incorrectly?

Damn I'm tempted to order this, but I've been waiting for the Klipsch RP-1400SW to go back down to $700

https://slickdeals.net/f/19232332
I agree, the Rp1400sw @ $700 was really hard to pass up, but I went with the RSL 12S on their powerbuy last Dec. i wanted the high level inputs and also like the remote and built in dsp. As much as I like the performance of the RP subs (RP1600 is on sale right now for $1199 @ Adorama), they are built to a price point yet have a huge markup thru retailers.
The RSL10E is an entry level sub but imo, it's truly THE starting point for real LFE/bass. If you're wanting RP1400 level output, maybe consider the RSL 12S, HSU VTF-2 mk5, OSD FS15, or Tonewinner D4000. (Those are just ported options). Also, if your on a budget, you could get 2 RSL 10e for $600 on this sale.

For some reason you thought I said sealed subs were not good for home theater.

I own two of these and they are really fantastic! I own two other subs from SVS and Dali but, they really hold their own. I have been having them for about three years now. I almost want to buy another one as a backup lol.

I bought the $259 blemished 10E as well during the last sale, and I love it so much for home theater. It won't knock your house down but I've turned it down at times for fear of it rattling the windows out of their frames. Still haven't found the blemish.

Yes, that's what you asked, can't tell you what you thought.
To be fair, you definitely didn't "type" that sealed subs are good for home theater either.

At the very least, you insinuated sealed are "better" for music, ported are "better" for movies.

Anyways, all I did was say what you didn't "type".

Anyway, yes...that's what I typed, yet you went on about other things for some reason.

Correct. Now that one you read successfully.

Want to say it was around Christmas or maybe January? I dunno what is better for music but the RSL sounds good for music to me.

My son just blew my Klipsch woofer and I've been looking at these ones as a replacement. It's just used for surround sound in my living room and plugs into a soundbar. Is this good enough for that usage?
