After the product is removed from the store's inventory, unsold supply is returned to the manufacturer, who usually arranges for discount stores like Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, etc. to take it. These stores will usually still accept returns.
When the discount stores decide to remove it from their inventory, it's packed up and sold by the pallet to liquidators like Woot, Liquidation.com, etc. These companies generally do not accept returns. Their job is to sell off the inventory, not provide you with service like you'd expect from a store.
Anything they can't sell is usually packed into mixed pallets (lots of different products in one pallet) and auctioned. Usually people who buy those break apart the pallet and sell the individual items on eBay. Whether they want to bother with returns is up to them.

SleepLux twin air mattress is a low-cost backup for kids sleepovers, camping, or emergency use, with the built-in pump making it quick to inflate and deflate. The mattress is described as comfortable enough for an air bed and easy to pack back into the bag, and the $15 price feels worthwhile for short trips or occasional use. The main drawback is durability, with reports of slow air loss, pinhole leaks after a handful of uses, and flattening after a few months. Returns are also not accepted on this item.

That just sounds like bad economics.
You also forget that you are paying for things like how much foot traffic popular department stores bring in, consumer market share, and a variety of other things that bring absolutely zero value to your purchase.

Seem like nice little air mattresses for the price inflated one this morning and it's still holding air well.
We seem to always get a pin hole leak in them camping or just on kids sleep overs so they only last ~5x before we toss them and have to buy more, at this price they are nearly disposable tbh.
Like 3 months or so ....
you wake up with a low matrass
