FWIW, reviews from the last five years indicate these are no longer made in Germany, now made in China, with complaints popping up about rusting and breakage. We are apparently not allowed to have nice things.

Doesn't look like these come apart unfortunately. I usually look for shears that are able to come apart for ease of cleaning especially for the kitchen. Food juices/gunk will build up in the hinge over time and is very hard to clean without being able to take it apart.

Are these 10 times better than a pair from the dollar store, Yes. But will they last 10 times longer? Also, Yes. 😂 Amazing scissors at a great price.

China is perfectly capable of making high quality shears that do not rust, and they do make them. They just aren't on sale for $10. What do you expect when you pay $10?
The entity that you should be blaming is Zwilling for cutting costs on material and quality control. The Chinese factory is simply making these to the specs set by Zwilling. If Zwilling wanted these to not rust, they can pay more for better material and more quality control.
Also, complaints of rust go all the way back to 2015.

Same. That's a must for me for kitchen shears

These were same price during Black Friday sales last year, so I bought several with intention of keeping 1 or 2 for myself. Gave them all away for gifts. Can confirm that they are made in china and they don't come apart. Was disappointed as the consensus has always been that the twins means made in Germany, but after much research after this, see that is not always the case anymore. Felt duped and that's the reason I just gave them away. If it doesn't bother you, great price for a pair of kitchen shears.

Doubful, the best are the Scott ones from Costco, they def last an incredibly long time as i found the dollar ones absolute trash and cant even cut plastic after a few months.

If you want real German, twist apart scissors, you've got to pony up $29 for the Wusthof

Actually, part of the problem is they DO come apart, just not where you want them to. Over time the handles become loose and fall off the metal part too easily.
