I don't need another controller, but the ability to swap a/b between switch and pc play is awesome and will make this a perfect dedicated second player controller no matter the platform.
Yup. Especially better than their overpriced 'Elite' driftfokkers.. wore out TWO of those in 6 months before I accepted that 1st party has become planned obsolescence. Immediately bought a GameSir, been rocking it over a year on PC. Not perfect, but it works & isn't blatantly designed to fail suddenly.
Excellent controller and super worth it at this price. I bought one not too long ago and, after using it for one session, I couldn't really look at my 8bitdo Ultimate controllers the same way, haha. They're just not as comfortable as the supernova which also has a more premium feel as well.
In fact, I have one out for delivery today to replace another one of my 8bitdo ultimate controllers. I'm a total convert over from 8bitdo.
I had used GameSir controllers in the past but never this particular one. Super comfortable and feels great in the hands. I also really like where the back buttons are located.
I agree with the the comment above somewhat. I don't think that 1st party controllers are designed to FAIL but 3rd party controllers are getting so good that it's hard to justify the pricetag of 1st party controllers, especially when they're all still using older tech like potentiometers for the sticks (which is more likely to fail than Hall effect or TMR). $100 for a Switch 2 Pro controller?! No thanks. I'll just grab a $50 Mobapad Chitu 2 or a $40 EasySMX S10, both of which have either Hall Effect or TMR and they even have HD rumble and NFC support. Even the Xbox Elite Series 2, which costs $140 uses potentiometer sticks. You're better off getting a Gamesir G7 Pro for $80 (VERY often on sale for less) and calling it a day
Thank you for reading my tangent, haha!
But back to this deal in particular: If you need a controller for PC, Switch 1/2, or Android, this one is a NO BRAINER at $35. It can even wake the Switch 2!
In my opinion: absolutely. If you're looking to get it for xbox though, it won't work with it but if you're asking if it's better than an Xbox core controller for PC or Android? Absolutely yes it is. Xbox core controller's best deal is usually $40, right? This is less than that, comes with a dock, and has way more features and better tech.
but do i neeed it, or can i dig my switch 1 controllers out of the bin and use them for switch 2?
You don't NEED it, Switch 1 controllers all work with Switch 2. I'm still using my modded OG Switch Pro controllers on my Switch 2. They only thing they can't do it wake the Switch 2 from sleep.
Fine for me since I have to get up and grab the controller anyways.
