Any thoughts on the third-party/knock-off batteries? Are they actually decent. I'm sick of buying overpriced EGO batteries, or extra tools to get them. I have a couple old ones that are just "dead" red ring of death.

I was going this route and then read about someone's garage starting on fire as a result of buying these knock offs

This is a good deal. I have had this one for a year and love it. Use it to blow leaves and when I detail my car(us stubby adapter). It is heavy especially with the 5.0 battery. It comes with a strap if needed. Even the 2.5 battery last long enough for my needs.

With sales like this I don't think Ego batteries are particularly overpriced. If comparing to other platforms, be sure to compare watt-hours rather than amp-hours.
If we're happy with $10/Ah for Dewalt 20v, we should be happy with $28/Ah here, valuing the batteries at $210 and the blower + charger at $109.
I'm sure knockoffs could be cheaper, but this price seems reasonable enough.

Those 50 dollar blowers with 2 batteries is much better for a regular home user. It's a great blower, if you have money to burn.

They will cancel your order and the physical Lowes will not honor the price. Ordered and after after 90 minutes the order was cancelled with no explanation. Went to the local Lowes where it was supposed to be fulfilled and they had the two items in stock. Had customer service check my online order and they said that it was cancelled due to "potential fraud". I used the same credit card that is linked to my Lowes app and have purchased online and picked up in store from the same location in the past. Store management said that they could not price match their own website. Even tried to order online again with a different cc and called the customer service number and informed them that I was buying again and that it is an authorized purchased and asked them to verify that it should go thru. Got cancelled again after going thru "corporate review". Wasted about an hour and a half at the store.
