All I remember about this game (the first one) is how it was hyped to be the next big thing on N64 back in the day. The graphics were pretty good for the time, but the controls were clumsy and unintuitive, to put it lightly. I tried to make myself like it, but I lent it to a friend, and didn't really bother you try to get it back.

I'm sure it's better now with dual stick controls, but I don't have enough nostalgia to pay more than $5 for something like this.

Decent trip down memory lane for the price. These were a blast in the n64...I think one even supported the expansion pak

Agree with this take.... 13yo me was so mad after spending my paper route money to buy this jankey n64 game!

The funny thing is, despite the controls being clunky, it basically was the precursor dual analog FPS controls. I believe it was the first game to separate strafe/movement to the C-buttons (modern left stick) and look to the joystick(modern right stick.)

The thing that really bothered me was it was so pixelated that I had a lot of trouble discerning the dinos from the foliage, but maybe that was the point? In any case probably similar to you I couldn't stick with it.
