If you're only printing a few times a month, a laser printer might be a great investment—they can last for years! But if you're like me and print all sorts of things, like business cards, vinyl stickers, and photo paper, I'm still using my Ecotank 2800 and have already gone through three sets of ink bottles. I print about 50-100 sheets a week. An Ecotank for under $200 makes a lot of sense. I've also had great results using Amazon refillable ink.

For the 2800 do you know of a water resistant refill ink?0 I'd like to try using Waterslide Decal Paper and trying to find a printer that fills my needs. Cards, vinyl stickers, flyers and decals.

The WF-3823 is $20 less, a newer model, with lots of improvements... Why buy this one?

Modern inkjets use a diaper like pad that soaks up ink from head cleaning.

Eventually it gets saturated and needs to be replaced.

Old printers made this very hard and in some cases impossible to do yourself.

Newer ones are better. More premium ones have a cartridge that dumps refuse ink into for even easier replacement.

Epson got sued and no longer permalocks. It's not like the old Canon pads. Fairly easy.
