I have no idea why you'd spend this sort of money on an Amazon CNC machine when this price gets you into much better Sienci, Onefinity, Shapeoko equipment with real software and support. Not even commenting on the hardware and small size.

It depends on what you want to make and the materials you want to use. I have a Sienci Longmill, that's a good 'starter' unit that will work wood, plastic and some metals and get you to where you can make a buck off it if you desire. There's a new version of the Longmill coming out soon. Shapeoko and Onefinity also have lower end models. A big thing with these brands is you get significant support, which you don't get from the Amazon/Chinese brands.

Determine the materials you want to work in, and also factor you'll need CAM software (which generally isn't cheap) and design/ CAD software (ditto), you may need to build a table or enclosure, you want workholding accessories, and you don't need to go nuts buying bits, but they are consumable. So there's a significant entry cost beyond the machine itself.
If you want to do high precision aluminum or steel you're looking at a different class of machine entirely.
