I got two of these for UPS use and had to immediately return them - one would not turn off its fan even on full charge, no input/output/dc/ac, the other came with a completely bust wireless battery. The latter was more concerning as it demonstrated just how poor quality control is on these refurb units.

In asking around to sort the issue before considering a return, I came across multiple EcoFlow River 3 Plus owners who said that the latest firmware update had the unit randomly turning off during UPS duties (an issue I found elsewhere on sites like Reddit), were having fan issues themselves, and a few more examples of people getting the refurb wireless version of this unit bust from Ecoflow direct.

I did get a return authorized, but the first salvos from ecoflow insisting I go through lengthy troubleshooting that didn't address the issues, along with 0 for 2 on these, has me avoiding Ecoflow for the future, at least on their refurb.

I've never seen this above $200. Seems to drop to $150 fairly often.

Does anyone know what refurbished means with these types of products? Like what do they typically do to it?

The refurbished unit i purchased was the one with the additional eb600 extension, and that arrived brand new in box seperately, and the unit arrived about 3 days later with low usage - this can be verified via app showing the historic usage. The refurbished unit came with the plastic covering intact, so it looks brand new. The battery seems to be doing fine over the past week. I was hesitant with purchasing the wireless variant used as others mentioned the problems, so I went forward with the Costco deal. The only thing I notice is the pps charging tends to revert to fast charging after 3 minutes, instead of super fast charging for Samsung. The wireless charging seems to slow down as well, but the additional usb c ports are great to charge my watch. The Costco return policy is what encouraged me, and so far the ecoflow product line seems well worth the investment

I have 7 EcoFlows, two of these and two Delta 3s I use for UPS, I've never had any issues with any of them. I had one where the LCD was garbled but I sent it in and they fixed it. I will admit though as I rule I just never buy refurbished things that have consumables in them, these were all new.
