CMF Buds 2 come across as a strong budget pick for calls, podcasts, music, and travel, with ANC that punches above its price and a compact case that is easy to carry. The six microphones and app support stand out, including EQ, spatial audio, and customizable tap controls, and the fit is helped by multiple ear tip sizes and an oval-shaped design. The main drawbacks are the awkward double tap for play and pause, plus reports of battery and charging failures after a few weeks. A practical low cost pair if you want solid sound and noise reduction without much worry about loss.

  • Listeners who want strong noise blocking on a tight budget, because the ANC is unusually effective for this price and can quiet airplane noise.

  • Podcast and music listeners who want a simple everyday pair, because the sound is good and they work well for walking or desk use.

  • Android listeners who like app tuning, because the companion app offers EQ, spatial audio, and customizable touch behavior.

  • Remote workers taking frequent video calls, because voices come through clearly and the battery lasts through meetings.

  • People who want one-tap playback controls, because play and pause require a double tap and single taps can trigger accidentally.

  • Buyers who need dependable charging over time, because units can stop holding a charge after a few weeks.

  • Runners and treadmill users who need a locked-in fit, because the included tips can feel insecure during movement.

  • Heavy all-day listeners who need long runtime, because battery life can be around five hours in work use.

I actually have these buds in right now when I came across this post. Sound is great and I like having the dial on the case. Battery life is so so for me. Lasts about 5 hours at work.

I have these in my pocket right now. As good as a deal as this is, I'd rather have the cheaper Smokin Buds I lost. The cheapo smokin buds were slimmer and had better sound isolation, and those are a lot more useful for me on a daily basis. For air travel, the ANC is pretty handy, but my LG T90Q's are better and have the nifty feature of built-in UV sanitation.
I can recommend these, but it comes with some asterisks.

P40i and up I find were better, sound/calls/anc. P31/P30 and below were even or worse in some areas. Software better on soundcore and ANC(because of updates).
Calls on CMF are superior. Probably because of the 6 mics. Background reduction is okay but about like P30i soundcores. P40s and above were stronger.
Fit matters a lot of cheaper buds for ANC reductions.

I returned the CMF($35 at the time) and I keep the P30i I had($25). Just more comfortable(everyone ear's different).

Though I can't recommend these when Samsung Buds Pro3(white) still selling Best Buy refurbished for around $55-65. Other than case design, there is not buds better for the price that even come close(maybe sony's if you lucky to get extreme sale or deal). I love my Buds Pro3 and will be upgrading to Pro4 when they are discounted under $75 down the road.

Normally I keep my buds for testing but nothing really impressed me about the CMF brand. If soundcore/anker wasn't around then I think they would be top dogs. So great alternative that I think mostly going to come down to ear fit between P30i. They both floating around the same price now of $25 for new. So if you don't have access to Anker or they didn't fit well I would go with these at this price.

Buds Pro3 are my main right now with P30i as my spares if lost.
Great reply and review, thanks! I don't use samsung anymore, since the buds pro and pro 2 rotted out a bunch of folks ears (thousands of complaints of allergic reactions Frown ) I get one earbud has an issue, but they continued it into the next generation, causing discomfort for thousands. (most weren't allergic, many were). I have the nothing ear 2024, very similar to the CMF, and the call quality is great for work calls.

For these buds you can change behavior with the app, iirc
I don't think you can change this particular action though. Still requires a double tap for play pause which is just stupid.
