Having said that, Niimbot labels aren't insanely expensive (sometimes twice the cost of what an aftermarket generic label costs). But the no-name printer I bought that prints on any label, has poor app support or label alignment features. So I think it's worth to stick to this ecosystem as long as your usage is reasonably low.
AliExpress also sells Niimbot branded labels and you may find good deals for those 1P labels there.
Resolution is quite low. Quality will be on the lower side with any small text.
