You can look at my series of comment edits the last time this was posted. I confirmed with the seller and support that it's shipped with only hardwire.
Edit: A few people reported that it did come with a pigtail. So, my comment is now moot.
If you already have a 240v outlet and it's just a plug in installation, that's one thing, but if you're getting it hardwired the electrician probably isn't going to spring for higher gauge wiring/higher amp braker to future proof for a more capable install in the future unless you specifically request it. Plug in 240v are also limited to 40 amps, so you're leaving capability on the table if you use a plug vs. hardwire.

Is this a serious comment? There are thousands of L2 EVSE's on the market with a 14-50 plug, because many of us prefer it.

"smart" features, I just unplug and replug. No more electrician visits. 40A charging is just fine for me. I did already add a Shelly device to track energy usage on the charger, so I got a little mart already without needing to swap the unit out.
Anyway, many people already have the 14-50 outlet and for them it doesn't add any complication at all. It's cheaper than rewiring a high voltage circuit and it also provides flexibility and portability. Look at the options on Amazon and you'll discover how common this is, because many people want it.
