Got one of these refurb from Woot for $99. Works well. Simple but planning out 24 hours in advance sucks. Doesn't make very much. If you have more than 1-2 people to serve you'll want to buy extra containers to have frozen and ready especially if you want a choice of flavors.
Takes 5 minutes or less for machine to turn solid block of ingredients into to something delicious. Buying ice cream from store much simpler but this way I know exactly what is in it. Even made one half milk half water that my dogs enjoyed as a cold treat. Yes it's a gimmick appliance but does the job well. Takes up a fair amount of counter space and is a bit on the loud side running but that's only for a few minutes. Easy cleanup is a plus. Enjoy!

I'd get this if I didn't already have the Swirl. If I could go back, I'd get this over the Swirl since the swirl feature is kind of a gimmick that my wife thought she'd use more. Now it's just taking up that extra counter space.

I bought a refurb on Woot too. Unfortunately, I was never able to get low fat recipes to work, such as protein drinks. Also, it lasted about 10 times, then self-destructed with a really icy container from the freezer. I believe it was a protein shake that broke it. What they show you on the infomercial and what you get in real life use is different. Low-sugar low-fat items are usually crumbly and even when you let them thaw more they're not that tasty. As long as your mixture has a decent fat and sugar content it will indeed make good tasting treats. Even sorbet is a pain if you don't get the temperature just right. With icy mixtures if it's too frozen your treat will be dry and crumbly and your machine "will" implode and self-destruct...sooner than later. Wait too long allowing it to thaw, or warm it too much in the microwave and the results aren't impressive. I like Ninja but I'm not a fan of the Creami.

Rather get this as new from Costco than used/refurb from Woot for $50 less.

Looking forward to my first batch

Didn't the one from Costco used to come with three containers.

OK my mistake. I looked at the photo and not the description. So it does have three containers.

This is my no sugar recipe base. I tweak it depending on the flavor I'm making with less or no vanilla.

100g allulose
20g unflavored protein isolate
2/16 tsp locust bean gum
1/16 tsp guar gum
1/64 tsp xanthan gum
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup cold filtered water
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
10-12 drops liquid stevia

I use these for my flavor unless I'm using fresh fruit.

allulose/monfruit, casein protein (in place of whey or mixed with whey), 2% ultra filtered milk instead of skim, and banana will all get you nice results. and don't be afraid to scrape sides/bottom with butter knife and respin more than once. also adding a splash (1tbsp) of liquid before the respin helps. if you must use skim, .25 tsp of guar gum in addition to the aforementioned ingredients will yield great results.

I have had my Creami Deluxe for a few weeks now and have had great results. I look forward to using it nightly. Not every concoction has been a home run, but I've found some great staples already that are delicious. Try this recipe:
  1. 2 cups (488g) 2%ultra filtered milk (fairlife, byrne dairy, Kirkland, etc)
  2. 50g chocolate protein powder (whey, casein, or mix)
  3. 12g PB2 pure powder
  4. 12g unsweetened cocoa powder
  5. 24g Monkfruit/allulose
  6. pinch of salt
  7. half a ripe banana
Macros breakdown: 542cal, 70.2 protein, 32.7 carbs, 13.5 fat
The above makes two servings. Macros vary slightly due to banana amount varying.
  1. Let pint sit out 20 mins or run under warm water for a minute
  2. Spin, scrape edges with back of butter knife
  3. Respin (add tbsp of milk before first respin if you'd like)
  4. If not perfect, respin one more time.

Thanks for the recipe on behalf of those buying the machine, that should help them. Maybe the banana acts as lube 😂. The suggestions are helpful too, but that's kind of my point. It can be pretty fussy trying to get just the right state of frozen. If the frozen contents are too hard this machine has to work very, very hard. Regular ice cream recipes don't seem to have as much of a problem, but low fat recipes are very difficult on it. Almost every low fat recipe I tried came out "powdery" on first spin, and was audibly more difficult for the machine. I tried microwaving it for 10 seconds, running it under water, and just leaving it out 15 or 20 minutes (like the manufacturer recommends). None really worked for me consistently. It should work like the informercial shows...well, it doesn't. I had some successes, but too many failures. That said, people love the darn thing.

Unfortunately, mine broke on me. It was during a hard spin something broke and it sounded like an explosion. The blade came off and thankfully it was contained. In fact, I couldn't see any damage, the blade re-attached, but I was done with my Creami. I put it in the garage sale pile. This year, at my garage sale, I was showing it to a person. I had the power off to demonstrate how it's assembled. I put the container in the holder, attached the lid, and rotated it to lock it. Much to my chagrin, the blade went plunk and wouldn't stay attached to the lid. Obviously, something was seriously wrong with it. Thankfully, the problem showed itself before I sold it. I told him "Sorry, I can't sell it to you, I'm going to have to throw it away". I wasn't about to troubleshoot it because, 1) I really didn't like it, 2) It could have just needed a new lid but that might be an expensive fix, 3) It could have been something much more serious related to the motor post where the blade attaches. He asked if he could have it instead me throwing it out. I said sure. He never got back to me, but I hope he was successful fixing it.
