I was looking to get this but I'm surprised by the reviews of people saying the glass carafe explodes or breaks. Anyone have better experiences with this? In the market for a prog coffee maker

Never had that happen. We've had one like this for years and never had any issues.

Several decades ago when Mr. Coffee arrived on the scene, in the '70s, I believe, they were more expensive than now, and, to my knowledge, have always been pretty good, usually costing more than others 'cause the spokesman was the Yankee Clipper for years & years, and I suspect he wasn't cheap.
