Community Reviews
This Mr. Coffee 12 cup programmable maker is mainly a low cost, no frills option for basic daily brewing, with a strong price for a familiar brand. The 2 hour auto shutoff and programmable timer add convenience, and replacement carafes are easy to find if the glass breaks. The main drawbacks are the glass carafe, which can crack from thermal shock or wear over time, and a clock that is hard to read from across the kitchen. It is a simple budget pick that covers the basics without much polish.
Early risers who want a simple programmable drip maker, because it brews reliably and the 2-hour auto shutoff adds peace of mind.
Daily coffee drinkers who want a cheap backup machine, because it has held up for years in regular use and can last about 2-3 years with heavy brewing.
Home brewers who want a basic basket-style coffee maker, because basket and cone drip styles produce different flavor profiles.
Shoppers replacing a broken carafe, because replacement carafes are plentiful and easy to find.
People worried about fragile glass carafes, because the glass can break eventually and reports mention breakage or cracking.
Households that brew later than a fixed morning schedule, because the 2-hour auto shutoff can turn the machine off before everyone is ready.
People who need to see the clock from across the kitchen, because the display points upward and is hard to read at a distance.
Shoppers who want a set-and-forget timer, because changing the brew time can be annoying when the minute button rolls into the next hour.

The ONLY downside is you can't see the clock from across the kitchen. It's pointed upwards (terrible spot) so you have to be near the coffee maker to see it.
