I've never had any of these 10yr models last more than 4 years. A few only didn't. Ended up going back to replaceable battery models.

The sealed battery version was in stock and $10 cheaper in warehouse at the Shoreline, WA location today. I opted for the wired version for $65. Haven't installed them yet but need to start replacing the ones in my house that are probably 20 years old.

I hate these. They always end up going off for no reason in the middle of the night. I returned them and the next set did it too.

What did you replace them with? Any recommendations for some that don't have false alarms?

This second time just happened this week. I haven't found a good replacement yet.

I've had a 50% failure rate on mine. One lasted about 7 years before it started screaming at me and I smashed it with a hammer because it wouldn't stop.
